Julie Ann Shaw is a Los Angeles based freelance commercial and editorial photographer.
She graduated from CalArts with a BFA in Photography and Media in 2009 at 26 years old.
She began her photographic adventures at the age of 11 and learned everything on film and in a darkroom. That was very expensive.
When she was 20, one of her dearest friends joined a local heavy metal band, and it was only natural that she would bring her camera to his shows. Over time, and several rolls of film, she taught herself how to photograph local Los Angeles bands in the most difficult venues.
Her love of photography has led her on many adventures from portrait and product photography in the safety of a studio, to landscapes, cityscapes and promotional portraiture in unfamiliar places, to insanely shooting on the back of a moving motorcycle for a publication. She has never turned down a challenge or a chance to be afraid...or a cup of coffee.
Julie's love of photography is matched only by her love for her rescue pittie, Stelby, her sweet little floof, Waffle, and the real life Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, a rescue named Buffy.
