Darwen's Theory Rehearsal 07.01.21

It is no secret that Darwen's Theory is my favorite band to photograph-we'll pretend for a second that my personal relationship with a few of them has nothing to do with it. They are four  of the best guys you will ever meet. Yes, there are five members, Tyler knows what he did. I'm just kidding, all five are fantastic people and they always let me pop in to invade their creative space with my camera.

I love photographing rehearsals. They are more relaxed, authentic, and, obviously, less crowded, which allows me to be more mindful, precise, and experimental with my photos. I can move as I please without having to fight an audience or other photographers (gah, don't even get me started). At one point, I just sat down next to the drums and looked for a shot. I can never do something like that during a live show. It is just fun. 

They just recently started having regular weekly in person rehearsals. Unfortunately, I happen to be at a rehearsal that JJ was absent from due to exhaustion from work. I will get him one of these days. I guess I will just have to keep going to rehearsals until I finally get him.
